John owned several different makes of car, including Rovers, Citroens, Fords, Hillman but I think his favourite was the Triumph Spitfire mark IV. It was a british racing green soft too version. He would spend many weekends looking after its bodywork and doing various repairs. He was very sad when he felt he could no longer drive it comfortably.
